MLBTR:

I really hope we don't get him.
It'd have to be a minor league contract, wouldn't it?  I have no problem giving him a minor league contract.

I just learned that the Nationals are monitoring RHP Chien-Ming Wang. He is throwing 120 feet on flat ground.

Good! He'd be a great fit in DC!

Nationals looking at Wang

Quote
MLB.com - The Nationals are keeping an eye on free-agent pitcher Chien-Ming Wang, according to a baseball source.

Washington would not confirm that they have interest in Wang and they haven't had serious talks with agent Alan Nero because the right-hander is still recovering from arthroscopic shoulder surgery that he had in late July.

I think he's be a real lift for the rotation.

He's got to potential to really help arouse the baseball community in DC and get the blood pumping in Nationals Park as the crowds swell with anticipation.

Alright, I'm done, just some quickie thoughts...err...

But what if fans begin to rely on getting regular starts with Wang and Rizzo decides to pull Wang from the rotation?

Then, hopefully we'll be able to compensate with some of the young guys so we can continue to provide stiff competition for the rest of the league rather then that impotent club we've thrown out there of late.

I like your rotation though DPM. We go from a mediocre -good at best rotation to a solid starting 5.

I suppose they could always bring Randall David Johnson, nicknamed "The Big Unit", back to the franchise to compensate for the lack of Wang.
