Oh sure, look who's playing Marcus Welby now?

Look, I may not be a doctor, but I once got a B in Biology and with this computer and the internet, I can diagnose nearly any injury based on mere second or third hand anecdotal reports.  So buzz off.

And failing that, you can always call it a fact in your mind.

This isn't nature vs nurture. Hes our prized draft pick, hes not going to turn into some pansy who can't pitch. <laughing>

Well luckily it seems like its not serious. I don't understand how pro players are so brittle though. I've played baseball for the past 5 years every summer and I've never come close to seriously injurying myself (closest was a slightly pulled calf diving headfirst to avoid a tag at third...but I was safe AND ended up being the winning run Smiley). But its just amazing me how you can be shagging fly balls and hurt yourself like that. I was really looking forward to watching him pitch tomorrow though. Oh well, at least the franchise is still intact...

Strasburg's knee OK

The Nationals just released an update on Stephen Strasburg after his examination in Los Angeles today. Strasburg has a patellar subluxation of his left knee on Thursday--which usually happens when the kneecap is pulled laterally out of its groove--and he'll be fine for spring training with rest and physical therapy.

So for the time being, it appears there's not much for Nats fans to worry about, though this obviously means Strasburg will have a minor injury to deal with before February rolls around. We'll keep you posted with what we hear.

Good news. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery and be ready to roll for spring training.

Get Strasburg healthy, grab Nolasco this year, and since Beinfest royally f*cked up negotiation with Josh Johnson to the point JJ has decided to never talk to them again, grab him some time next year (he's no longer going to ever entertain a multi-year deal with the Fish, and though he'll be in his in this last arby yearl after 2010, he'll be far outside Marlins range), and the Nats could be set for years.

Yep.  I think that's similar to what I had.  Strained my knee back at the end of August.  I'm still a little gimpy.  Only problem now is stairs!  He should be good with Rehab and therapy.  With no health insurance, I've been unable to start that yet!

Just be glad he's privately insured.  Word is the Marlins are going with the government option.

Even if we took someone else first overall they would still be one person.

one person does not a rotation make, even the best pitcher on this or any other planet only pitches every 5 days, that makes 32.4 wins...I think.. anyhow the team needs more then one egg.

Again even if we took another pitcher first overall they wouldn't be more than one person. We probably also would have taken Dustin Akley first overall if we didn't take Strasburg and he is neither two people or a pitcher. And also when we drafted Strasburg we didn't take all the other pitching prospect to a field and shoot them, and it isn't even the winter meetings yet. Christ, Strasburg most likely won't pitch this year in the majors anyway. He is a 0-0 major league pitcher at this point he is a worse major leaguer than Daniel Cabrera.
