With tall chicks.  Don't ask me why, that's just what I think of when I think of tall chicks (meaning taller than me)

This thread is made of win.  I'm like SF - huge wrestling fan through 2001.  It just sucks now.

Let me just say this:

Anyone who believes the screwjob was fake is a complete idiot.

I'm going to decline that request on the basis that you've already been one for 897 straight days (since you registered)

I did get a nap. lmao I didn't sleep for as long as I would've liked, but I feel pretty well rested right now.

But seriously, anyone who thinks that really needs to watch Wrestling With Shadows.  It's all in there.

I remember Gorgeous George, Haystacks Calhoun and a few others from when I was a kid in the 50's/60's. Can't stand it anymore. Now, interscholastic wrestling is cool; my son did it in middle and high school.

It probably was different at other schools, but at my high school the "wrestlers" were all meathead closet-case homosexuals. They all acted jocktacular (because most of them wanted to be football players but never made the team) and would be all aggressive if you called them a bunch of fairies or whatever, but in truth they loved meat.

I only say this because it was well known around the school that the wrestlers had a "initiation" for the rookies. A vet would purposely choose a rook to spar with and as they tumbled on their mat, the vet would roll the rook over, move over that little strip of spandex over the taint and insert his finger up the rook's ass. They called it "Checking The Oil." I had three different wrestlers from different class years confirm this.

Oh man, flashbacks ... must have been '85 or so.    Went to the Cap Center and saw Jessie "the body" Ventura rassle Hulk Hogan.    Andre the Giant and Sgt. Slaughter were on the card too.    Sat about 6 rows from ringside.    Had a buzz goin' on that day  <drinking heavily>

That's really stacked.  I saw one of the last events ever at the Cap Center.  In fact, it was probably the last wrestling event.  House show in '98 around Unforgiven.

I didn't even realize at the time how incredibly stacked that was with legends.

Dude Love (Mick Foley) vs. Steve Austin was the main event, and Kane vs. The Undertaker was the penultimate match, and Triple H vs. Owen Hart was on the card as well. <wide-eyed shock> I saw four Hall of Fame bound guys, and two more greats.  It's like when I saw Mike Mussina vs. Randy Johnson and didn't appreciate it until later. <laughing>

I remember that freaker Marc Mero flipping everyone off.  I was so annoyed. <laughing> That's what made the attitude era so fun/unique.  Definitely a far cry from those wrestling shows in the 80's.

It's more complicated than "The Guiding Light" and "General Hospital".   Has more drama than NCIS or 24 Hours.    Kickin' comedy like I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners together.   PLUS ...  the nuts and "morans" in the crowd.     The tickets I got in '85 were comps and the beer was $3.50.    Throw in a couple of doobies on the way to the show and .... awaaaaay we go.    Ya just can't take it too seriously.   It's entertainment.    It's certainly better than bein' a 'skins' fan.
