he wasn't talking about Joel walking. he was talking about Beimel.

letting Beimel close destroys Hanrahan's confidence, and then Beimel walks at the end of the year and we have no closer.

that's what I read out of his post.

oh, yea he cleared it up, I read this thread out of anger..

thanks for clearing it up tho

Not saying Joel is def. the answer - but naming a short-timer the closer is counterproductive at this time, no matter how much it would please the fans. Signing Joe Beimel to a 2 year extension today then naming him closer would be awesome.

I'm all for signing him to an extension. The guy is money. He's way better than anything else that we have or have had in a while.

would you want to sign an extension here if you were him? I really don't see RZ signing either. those rumors were BS.

I bet you Dunn, Beimel, and all of the new coaches are furious that they came here and can't wait to leave.

Where do we go from here?

To Woodbridge, VA for baseball. At least until too many of these losers on the MLB roster get sent their.

I'm surprised that Lannan and Olsen don't gang up and beat Joel's ass in the locker room.

I bet they aren't talking to that bum though. I bet he's all alone in the club house.

They are pros and like money. Beimel would have gone anywhere that offered him 2 years. Bet he would take 2 more years in a heartbeat.

they like losing too? I'd take a little less money to play for a good team.

I know i've said this a million times, i would really go with davey johnson.  He's a proven winner, has coached some of these guys before w/ team usa, he's taken plenty of young talent and turned them into winners/solid careers.  I know he's a bit older, but he knows how to do his job and get those he's leading to do their jobs as well.

We need someone who is used to winning and has a winning attitude and won't accept "deflating" losses.  Manny doesn't fall into any of those categories.  1-9 is absolutely unacceptable.

I've never been this embarassed and pissed off at the same time.  I'm not even talking about all the money I have dropped on tickets/memorbilia/etc.  Just how things have gotten progressively worse, when there should be a lot more progress.

i feel your pain. this is disgusting. we should not be this bad. not even close. we should at the worst have 4-5 wins at this point in the season.

how did we end up like this?! <banging head against the wall>

i'm being dead serious i may let other members of my family take the tickets.  i have the day off tomorrow and probably would rather just sleep in, watch the game from my apartment.

my uncle got (4) free $60 face value tickets for tomorrow's game but at this point I don't even know if I want to go. I'm that disgusted with this team right now.

yea 4-5 wins right now would be so money for this team, but we are so unclutch with runners on base, STILL, and our bullpen / closer still suck ass, and our manager is an idiot

Whoever has Wang in our fantasy league just lost this week.  Yanks gave up 14 runs in the 2nd inning, Wang gave up 8.  His ERA was 28 going into the game, now it's 34.

The announcers were just slobbering over the Marlins in the Indians-Yankees game.  They failed to mention that if the Nationals had an average closer, the Marlins would be 8-3 and on a two game losing streak instead of 10-1.

yeah, nevermind 6 of those wins have been against us --  and then they talked about emilio like he's ricky frickin henderson -- what is he 1 for his last 30 now?  Nice of them to actually watch the games or find out what is actually going on before they talked about it

"I didn't make my pitches and obviously blew the game," he said. "I take full responsibility for the loss today. It was just a terrible effort."

"If you look at the video, both the balls they hit out were right down the middle; pitches that basically were put on a tee for them," said Hanrahan. "Olsen didn't deserve that, these guys didn't deserve that, it was pretty disappointing."

"He's our closer, he'll bounce back and we'll continue to give him the opportunity." he said.

Bonafacio is back to being terrible. He had a nice little run, but he is what he is....mediocre.

Two weeks ago I would have defended him, but honestly     I think Manny's time is done in DC.   The last two games at the park are the most depressed / pissed I've been since we got the team.   Today's game even worse than last night.  The only positive I can come up with for today's game is I got a free magnetic Nats schedule....but even that's not a positive because it just reminds me how much longer we have to spend getting our assess kicked before this year is over..

After 6 runs on 6 hits in the first two innings, we get one hit the rest of the way.    Another game-tieing homer in the 9th and an extra-innings loss.   Another game at the park having to listen to Clint.    Three more little league errors, all three of them unforced and complete Bad News Bears stuff.  Bernadina hurt.  Ugh.
