ROFL, Jerry Manuel on Johan Santana pitching a CG Shutout on 3 days rest:
"How many did he pitch? How many did he throw?" manager Jerry Manuel said with a grin. "Wow, wow, wow, wow. I think if I had to describe that one, I would say that was gangsta. That was real gangsta."

How about GREATEST POSSIBLE ENDING? We're f****ing in control of the #1 draft pick. I don't give a damn whether the Phillies or Mets get into the playoffs, since I despise both. I care about making this team a hell of a lot better. And we just did that by losing today. Praise jebus, thank god, whatever... The Mariners actually have won their last two, we lost our last two. Who could have dreamed this after we got screwed royally by losing Thursday's game? It looked impossible to in this situation Thursday night.

Dude you've been one of the worst one calling for Strasburg. We're in the driver's seat now. This game was meaningless.
Still, that would have been freaking sweet to ruin their celebration like that on National TV and to give Lidge his first blown save in a long, long, time. It was just a sickening ending. Ball looks like it's going up the middle for a single but Rollins barely gets to it and then flips it to Utley for 2. I would rather have lost 15-0. Oh well, I'll just try to forget about it. Maybe it was meant to be for us to get the #1 pick and Strasburg. If we win tomorrow I'll never forgive these mother freakers.

It seems like the announcers hate themselves that they have to broadcast a nats game...
They never even mentioned once that Mickey Vernon was a Senator. They seemed surprised when his picture was posted wearing the Nats uni. I doubt they even knew who he was. "lived in the Philadelphia area...." barf.

Anyone have a link to a Mets board, Nats thrashing thread? I'd love to read it

They never said "Senators" but they did say he played for Washington, and then were forced to mention that more once they showed more and more footage of him in a Washington uniform.

You could hear the surprise in their voices, as picture after picture of him in the Senators unis appeared. And I think they really only obliquely refered to him as "there he is in a Washington uniform", as if surprised, but not really admitting he played for us. Must have just been wearing the uniform that day.
